On January 6, 2026, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China released two updated national standards for chain drives, marking a significant acceleration in the standardization process of the chain transmission industry. Led by Donghua Chain Group with participation from Jilin University, the two standards adopt international standards on an equivalent basis and introduce new core technical indicators. They will officially come into effect on July 1, 2026. The implementation of these standards will further improve China’s chain drive standard system and promote quality and technological upgrades of supporting chains used in conveying equipment.
