Main structure: The TGSS series drag chain conveyor is mainly composed of the head section, trough, scraper chain and scraper, nylon idlers, tail section, and transmission device and other components.
Working principle: When the drag chain conveyor operates, the materials entering the conveyor trough are subjected to the thrust of the scraper chain in the direction of movement and their own gravity. This generates internal friction between the materials, which ensures the stable state of the material layer and can overcome the external friction force caused by the movement of the materials within the conveyor trough, allowing the materials to flow continuously along with the scraper chain and be transported.
The scraper chain not only relies on direct force but also ingeniously utilizes the internal friction of the materials themselves, enabling the overall flow of the materials – even in inclined transportation, it is highly efficient.
Key vulnerable components and maintenance priorities
To ensure the reliable operation and long lifespan of the equipment, the following components require special attention:
- Chain – There are two common types:
- Bushed Roller Chain GLF (Chain with Bushing)
- Bushed Roller Chain GLR (Chain with Bushing)

- Sprocket – The driving wheel and the tail wheel must precisely match the pitch of the chain.
- Scraper – Usually made of wear-resistant steel or polymer materials, it needs to be checked regularly.
